- Drive shaft adapter tool and pinion bearing puller or installation tools
- When working with 400 and 800 series outdrives remember when the water pump spline gets stripped the lower unit prop will no longer turn or will only turn with there is no load on the prop, like the propeller not being in the water or running dry on the driveway.

Drive shaft has 20 splines on the engine or hub side and 23 on the ball gear end.
Shaft is 13 1/4 inches long and will require a nut to hold ball gear on.
